Select/Deselect current track

Toggles selection for one track in playlist. This is the only manual selection in MP3 Manager and it is supposed only for corrections in playlist or for changing playing order. There are other possibilities -

• use modifying keys Shift  or Control+Arrow or Click.
• use any of functions described below:

Select all/Deselect all

"Deselect all" function is also available as a "hidden function" of "Selected tracks" label... just click on number of selected tracks.

Invert selection

Toggles selection across whole database.

Randomly select "X" tracks

Number of tracks for random selection can be specified Preferences/Select. 1 to 9999 tracks can be selected randomly (if you have got so many tracks, of course). This is one way how to make random selection. The other can be done in 2 steps: 1. select some or all tracks 2. Shuffle current selection (see below). In this way you can randomize selection of all track in database. Number set for random selection influences selected number of tracks, when MP3 Manager is started from command line with parameter "SP".

Shuffle current selection

Randomly changes order of current selected tracks. This can be useful for example if you make a selection using function "Select all tracks from this artist (album, year, genre)". If this selection is BIG, you will probably never hear the tracks which are on the bottom of your selection. In this way all tracks in your selection have the same chance that you will play them.

Select all tracks containing any string

Similar to "Find" function... but selects all tracks which contain searched string.

Select tracks with identical text in column

Assuming that you are using tags because information about artist, album and genre are taken just from them. Imagine, you have the cursor in database in column "artist" on artist "ABC". Artist "ABC" has 50 tracks. Using this command (or shortcut "/") MP3 Manager selects all tracks from artist "ABC". As well available from right mouse click menu.

Import playlist from Winamp as selection

Imports playlist from Winamp. Of course only for tracks present in database. As well available as shortcut "F4".

Merge selections

Enables/disables merging selections - the last selection is remembered and the new one is added. Available as button   as well.

Favourite selections

If you will create such a unicate selection that you would like to use more times, this function can spare your time in future. For each selection is one item in list with user defined title added. Note that corresponding files could be retrieved only upon condition, that they will not be renamed/moved/deleted.
